Sarah Mutton
My oil paintings of chickens, pigs and all other animals willing to pose are explorations of color, paint character, and design. I have been asked, ” Why paint animals?” Well, for one, they make me smile and two, they are alive and activate the space within the canvas. I love color, texture, paint, form, shape, composition, designing, serendipity, a well told story or a clever joke and these elements may present themselves through different levels of intensity depending on which sparked my inspiration. I want to learn, express my creativity, and have fun when I make my art. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Art from Rhode Island College in 1993 and a Master of Fine Art from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 1996.
