Our mission is to nurture and strengthen the communities of northwestern Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut by offering opportunities for sharing creative experiences and celebrating our cultural resources. The organization supports educational and social programs involving the arts including visual art, music, dance, theater, folk art, and healing arts.

We’ve come a long way in 10 years — This is the perfect year for us to grow as an organization and bring you some fresh, new programs, while still keeping the great things we have always done in motion. We will continue to bring art classes, gallery openings, movie previews, music events and other creative offerings to our community as we grow.

The Artists that make it all happen: We are honored to shine a light on the artists, musicians, actors and community builders that we work with. Visit our Artists Gallery to view, appreciate and even purchase art and music from YOUR local artists. Art and music are magical gifts we can give our children and, if we allow it, can be transformational for all of us.

Where we are heading with all this? Our vision has always been to link artists with community and vice versa. The last few years have brought changes to our economy, our school systems and our cities and towns. We realize that rather than bring you the arts because we like to, we may need to bring you the arts because we need to! That is fine with us; we are up for the challenge and have a host of volunteers that love to be involved. Speaking of volunteers…

Why volunteering is important: Volunteering gets you involved with the community. Volunteers energize us and the programs we create. Very often new volunteers have the best ideas because they see all we are doing with a fresh perspective. Volunteering allows you to give. Studies show that people who volunteer live longer than those who don’t. So, volunteering with fosteringArts.org could save your life!

Get involved in fosteringArts.org and be transformed.
